Video technology has moved on significantly in
the last few years with the advent of High Definition Video.
As good as this new technology is, it is built upon a foundation
of compromises and limitations. Camera manufactures have developed
solutions to help overcome some of these shortfalls, but place
the camera in the marine environment, especially within wrecks
and caves, then the cameras are often pushed to the outer edge
of their operating envelopes.
This workshop will discuss the various High Definition format
systems, their limitations and how they can be overcome in
the realms of the technical diver.
If you want to understand what interlaced, progressive, HDV,
ADVC, DVC PROHD, interframe rate, intraframe rate, colour
space, 1080i and 720p is all about and what impact these systems
have on your underwater film then come along.
The workshop will also discuss what camera settings to use,
how to configure lighting, how to make wreck and cave films
interesting and considerations for scootering.
With a number of practical examples and footage, the workshop
will address how to configure the camera system, selection
of diving equipment, in-water safety |
