Martin Parker, the MD of Ambient Pressure Diving
was the guy that “put his money where his mouth was”,
he had the technical diving capability, the vision, the development
& manufacturing experience and most importantly –
the cash, to drive the Inspiration CCR through to production,
something which large and small manufacturers had failed to
do over previous decades. First sold in November 1997, the Inspiration
is acknowledged as the rebreather that “created the market”
and along the way transformed the diving of thousands of technical
divers.
Martin’s experience with European Diving Standards and
experience with unmanned test facilities across the World ensured
that they got the basics right first time and now he runs one
of the most modern, technically advanced, life support test
facilities in the World.
Sadly, some divers have lost their lives while using rebreathers
and Martin’s presentation reveals for the first time what
is involved in an equipment examination and shows the results
of a variety of investigations.
