Mark Dixon heads up the UK deep wreck diving team know as the Dark
Star. The team has been exploring the wrecks of the North Channel
and Western Approaches off Northern Ireland for many years to depths
of 130m. Some of the deep liners they explore lie in some of the most
treacherous tidal waters in Europe.
These include the Transylvania a prestigious deep wreck dive as well
as the Tuscania possibly the UK’s best kept secret in terms
of deep wreck diving and the Andania and the Amazon. Dixon’s
team are a group of individuals all capable of exploring wrecks well
beyond 100m depth in British waters.
Today Dixon operates his own dive vessel appropriately named ‘Dark
Star’ which punches out large distances to explore virgin shipwrecks
of the UK coast. At EuroTek Mark along with Jeff Cornish will describe
some of the exploration of these wrecks the team has explored over
the years. |
