EuroTek.08 & 2010 Speaker Evan Kovacs
| Evan Kovacs started his filming career in 2003 on the History
Channel's underwater adventure series, Deep Sea Detectives.
In addition to ‘DSD’ he has had an ongoing filming
relationship with the Emmy award winning Lonewolf Documentary
Group, and more recently with Woods Hole Oceanographic. |

Evan has worked on over 30 episodes of ‘DSD’,
starting as assistant cameraman and underwater lighting assistant
progressing to lead underwater cameraman.
His work with Lonewolf Documentary Group includes several Emmy
nominated History Channel specials including Conquest of America,
Desperate Crossing, Titanic's Final Moments: Missing Pieces,
Titanic’s Achilles Heel and Titanic’s Sister Ship:
Britannic.
Evan’s work with the Advanced Imaging and Visualization
Lab at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution has had him filming
with the deep submersible ALVIN, the ROV Jason and elsewhere
around the world. |
| Currently he is working with the lab to develop the next generation
of 3D and 2D cameras and shooting techniques for topside and
underwater imaging. |
| Evan has been diving for over 15
years and technical diving for more than 10. During that time,
he has had the opportunity to dive and film wrecks, caves and
archaeological sites across the US, along the islands of the
South Pacific, the English Channel, the jungles of Mexico and
the Dominican Republic, the D-Day beaches of Normandy, the Mediterranean,
Thailand and others. Evan holds certifications on several different
rebreathers and is currently diving a custom built side-mount
rebreather and an Ouroboros for bailout on deep wrecks and caves. |

| At EuroTek.08 Evan will be running
workshops on underwater camera work, how to get started and
where it may take you. He will be on hand to provide advice
on getting the right frame which may get your work noticed by
television documentary groups. He will also be running through
some of the serious high definition equipment on hand at woods
hole. More information will follow. |
