Following on from 5 years working in the industry
and observing the growing use of drop tanks, Fining Around has
tested and developed a system to greatly improve the chance
of a drop tank reaching the correct depth and also being within
reach of the diver (without the risk of the tank hitting the
diver).
The idea came about whilst observing and trialing methods
currently in use, and finding that up to 3 out of 5 drop tanks
were either shallower than intended, or out of the diver's
field of vision and therefore unusable. The three bags, which
have subsequently been designed to reduce these problems,
eliminate tangles in the rope and ensure that the drop tank
is located in close proximity to the diver who has signaled
to the surface that they require more gas.
