Carl Spencer
EuroTek co-founder
It is with Great sadness that the
EuroTek organising team had to announce the loss of their co-founder
team member Carl Spencer who was pronounced dead after a deep
dive on Britannic on May 24th 2009.
Carl Spencer had been fortunate enough to dive on some of the
coolest shipwrecks around world and been involved with several
marquee projects and television productions.
Many of the projects had been some of the most groundbreaking
and successful combined several technologies; Submersibles,
ROV and manned SCUBA/Technical Diving.

| Carls diving projects & locations had been as diverse
as the numbing temperatures of the Frozen Arctic through to
the extreme depth of the wreck of the RMS Carpathia at +150mtr
[+500’]. As a a member of many expeditions, Carl was at
the time an ongoing participant in several ongoing medical trials
and decompression modelling projects at Duke University NC and
the Hyperbaric Faculty at the University of Split, Croatia.
In addition to diving he was a helicopter pilot and enjoyed
racing Dirt Bikes.Some of his noteworthy expeditions are listed

Eurotek Advanced Diving Conference Co Founder
Carl Spencer lost his life deep wreck diving on Britannic in
2009 His life was remembered at the 2010 Eurotek Awards evening
with a short tribute film edited and directed by eurotek co
organiser Crispin Brake. The film showed moving interviews with
several well known divers who were Carl's friends who all paid
tribute to the man that launched Eurotek with Leigh Bishop. |
